Bather

Bather

For a city that’s usually associated with below-freezing winters, Toronto is an unlikely birthplace for a swimwear line, but as Bather founder Kyle Kaminsky points out, no one appreciates swimsuit weather more than a Torontonian. Launched in 2013, Bather burst into the swim category with a specific mission: to create swim trunks that men could feel confident and comfortable in. To keep its promise and a meticulous eye over production, the brand manufactures its whole collection – which also includes loungewear and summer accessories – just five minutes from its head office. Using recycled polyester from post-consumer PET bottles, recycled nylon, organic cotton and French terry cotton, the line is as gentle on the body as it is on the planet. And the best part? All the colour-rich prints are done in-house with a strict no flamingo, no pineapple policy.
