Cala Jade

When Elise Kleiva Ugland and Tina Cecilie Skaar met on the metro en route to their first day at design school, it marked the beginning of a long friendship and the genesis of their leather goods brand Cala Jade. Founded in 2007, the Oslo-based label is devoted to the world of sophisticated, handcrafted leather bags and accessories. At the heart of their design philosophy is the contrast and intertwining between the feminine and refined Cala, and the androgynous and daring Jade. The result is an edgy, yet timeless aesthetic centred around premium quality leather and sustainable design. From sandals to handbags, belts, wallets, and totes, each Cala Jade product is meticulously handcrafted in an Indian workshop, specialised in leather weaving and braiding, and all the leather is carefully sourced from sustainable tanneries in Italy, Portugal, and Spain.
