Common Projects
Sometime in the 1990s Peter Poopat and Flavio Girolami crossed paths in New York’s downtown fashion scene. At the time, the former was a magazine art director, the latter a brand consultant for Italian shoe manufacturers, and together, their mutual appreciation for luxury design formed the basis for the inimitable sneaker brand “Common Projects”. Founded in 2004, the footwear label has since become one of the most coveted names on the sneaker scene. Everyone from Frank Ocean to Ellen DeGeneres, Nick Jonas, and Drake has been seen sporting a pair, and for good reason. Common Projects answered the call for the perfect luxury sneaker: a low-top, monochromatic style with an elegant, streamlined aesthetic. Together with premium handstitched Italian leather, the deconstructed style is the perfect mid-way point between a sports sneaker and a dress shoe, and the trademark of the Common Projects brand.
