Inspired by the artistic heritage of her native Italy and the energetic lifestyle she adopted in New York, Silvia Avanzi spent years developing and fine-tuning the concept for her shoe label Gray Matters. From the very beginning, her designs have always aimed at finding a balance between making a personal statement while also effortlessly transitioning from work to leisure and day to night. Today, Gray Matters continues with this philosophy in mind, creating footwear that is at once sculptural, sophisticated, and unique. Made in Venice, Italy by three generations of expert shoemakers, each pair exudes artisanal details and carries an attitude of its own and a casual confidence that women can wear all day long.
