Hamimi

Founded by creative brother and sister duo Rebecca and Alex Wilford, Hamimi Design is a unique brand that combines traditional Berber savoir-faire with contemporary design. After a trip to Marrakech, the two creatives fell in love with Moroccan culture and craftmanship. The two wanted to combine traditional materials and techniques with a contemporary sensibility, embracing both the old and the new. While Alex works from Brisbane, Rebecca is on the ground in Marrakech where she works with a team of local artisans who help bring their designs to life, all by hand. Hamimi Design’s crochet lights, jewellery and handbags are handmade by a small community of women in a village just outside Marrakech, helping keep their traditional skills alive and creating a brighter future for them and their families.
