Founded in 1976, La Pelucherie was a well-known Parisian toy institution. From her Champs Elysées boutique, Lydie Castoriano brought joy to children and adults alike for over thirty years with her wonderous range of soft toy animals. In 2007, and at 70 years of age, Lydie decided to hang up her boots, but thanks to her two granddaughters, Natacha and Alexandra, La Pelucherie was revived ten years later. Today, Lydie’s original and popular creations – including Hector the Dog, Zélie the Panther, Edgar the Hippo and Zoé the Giraffe – continue to delight little kids with their lovable personalities and ultra-soft coats. Each one is designed in France and made in the brand’s historic Italian workshop where traditional techniques, high-quality materials and hand craftmanship come together to create their iconic furry friends.
