Palomar

Award-winning Italian design company Palomar got its beginnings back in 1956 when the Palchetti family founded the Paim brand and began importing the first reflex cameras from Japan to Italy. Over its more than 65-year history, the brand has curated everything from binoculars and telescopes to fabric maps and magnetic bike lights – each one a revolutionary object in both design and function. After a name change to Palomar in 2001 – a tribute to the writer Italo Calvino and his novel Mr. Palomar – the brand continued to reiterate its design calling and went on to receive more than 30 awards for their various creations. Today, Palomar continues to push the boundaries with their new-age design gadgets that include bike accessories, maps and most notably a radio that can tune into frequencies from 18 different cities around the world.
