Tensira

Tensira is the story of Tuulia Makinen Diallo and her partner Hamidou Diallo. She hails from Finland, he, from Guinea, and together they founded their textile brand from their home in Paris. Launched in 2010, the brand brings together Tuulia’s experience in the world of fashion and textiles and Hamidou’s entrepreneurial spirit and business background as well as a deep knowledge of Guinean textile craft. His mother, an indigo dye artist with 40 years’ experience was the initial inspiration for creating the label. Today, the brand owns its own workshop in Conakry where over 100 full-time employees use traditional looms and age-old handcraft techniques to spin, weave, and dye fabrics using 100% natural fibres. From tote bags to table linen, cushions, blankets, and floor mats, Tensira blends Nordic and French inspiration with traditional African craftsmanship to create unique homewares you won’t find elsewhere.
