A donation made for every product purchased

This World Children's Day, we will be selling over 1,500 exclusive creations, with 10% of the proceeds being donated to the association “Un Enfant par la Main”.

Un Enfant par la Main

Un Enfant par la Main is a French NGO that protects children by upholding and respecting their
rights, ensuring that they grow to become independent and responsible adults. With the money
raised, Smallable and its generous brands and designers hope to support the various projects and
initiatives currently being undertaken by “Un Enfant par la Main” in a bid to improve safety.

3 projects will be funded thanks to the contributions
collected from the sale of our toys:

1 - HAÏTI: BUILDING SELF-SUFFICIENT HOMES FOR FAMILIES AFFECTED BY THE EARTHQUAKE

In August 2021, a 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck the Haitian peninsula, causing thousands of
casualties and injuries, as well as considerable damage to homes. With over 50,000 homes destroyed and over 80,000 damaged, tens of thousands of people are now homeless. In an effort to protect Haitian children and their families, French charity Un Enfant Par La Main elected to build self-sufficient homes for ten families from the Nippes department, where staff is already operating. Each house will be equipped with a water tank which will be used by the seven surrounding families, meaning every home built will give fifty people access to drinking water.

2 - INDIA: FIGHTING EARLY MARRIAGES

In India, the legal age for a woman to get married is eighteen ; and yet, one in every two girls is
married before she reaches that age. India is the country with the biggest number of women married before the age of eighteen, which is especially prevalent in rural areas. These early marriages have devastating consequences on the victims, who are more likely to suffer domestic and sexual violence and have precocious pregnancies, one of the leading causes of death worldwide for girls age 15 to 19. In order to help them, Un Enfant Par La Main is undertaking a project which includes raising awareness in local governments, providing guidance and facilitating access to higher education for these girls.

3 - ETHIOPIA: BUILDING A SHELTER FOR ABUSED CHILDREN

In Debre Birhan, one of the most economically attractive areas in Ethiopia, child labour is
an everyday occurrence. Many families who moved to the big city consider it a child’s duty
to contribute to the family’s income. These children experience abuse from an early age, from neglect to female genital mutilation, sexual exploitation and early marriages. Un Enfant Par La Main partnered up with ChildFund Ethiopia and its « Safe Schools » project to build a shelter
for 288 children who were separated from their families, abused, trafficked or ran away
to avoid marriage.

Un Enfant par la Main is a charity, and a member of the international ChildFund Alliance, that sponsors children and supports development projects around the world. Today, thanks to the support of more than 11,000 loyal sponsors and donors, Un Enfant par la Main is able to support and put in place sustainable solutions for developing communities. Their work impacts the lives of more than 100,000 children and families through community development programmes in 18 countries throughout Africa, Latin America and Asia.
